Austin Regional Clinic Austin Regional Clinic was founded in 1980 by family practitioner Norman Chenven, M.D., who invited pediatricians Thomas Zavaleta, M.D. and Carol Faget, M.D. to join him. Today, ARC is one of the largest multi-specialty medical groups in the Austin metropolitan area. ARC’s original mission – to provide access to quality, affordable medical care – has remained the same even as ARC has grown, the community has thrived, and advancements in medical science have flourished. ARC distinguishes itself from most other practices by providing access in terms of number of locations, variety of health plans accepted, hours of operation, timeliness of appointments and the ability to talk to a medical professional 24/7. ARC's patients, about 15% of Austin-area residents, can visit any of ARC's locations in Austin, Pflugerville, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Leander, Hutto, and their newest location opening in Kyle in 2009. Both established and non-established patients can use their urgent care and after hours facilities in Austin and Round Rock, including out-of-town guests as well. The group works with over 50 health plans and many government programs including Medicaid, CHIP and Medicare. Patients enjoy conveniences such as same-day and urgent care appointments, after-hours availability, all-night phone nurses, and online appointment requests from the ARC web site. ARC locations also include on-site lab and on-site or nearby x-ray services. With over 240 physicians in 12 specialties, ARC can provide patients with comprehensive health care that is accessible, reliable and convenient. They call it the ARC Advantage. |
