SXSW's Hugh Forrest opened an important conversation with Empowering a Billion Women's Ingrid Vanderveldt on empowering, supporting, and connecting women in business on September 20 at our TechTalk event at Capital Factory. The conversation started with Ingrid sharing her inspirational story of how she found her calling and the events leading up to her starting Empowering a Billion Women.

Ingrid shared how her company experienced explosive growth, and how women greatly impact today's economy. She then went on to share how women in business can experience growth and persevere through tough times. Her main three takeaways were:

1. Find a mentor who gets you and can really lock arms with you. Then, get an accountability partner to hold you to that.

2. Once you tap into what it is you are called to do, keep pushing because eventually, you will find those people to support you.

3. If you want to activate the economy and scale really fast, activate women.
