The Austin Chamber Board of Directors endorses Travis County Proposition A on the November 2024 Ballot, which aims to increase access to affordable, high-quality childcare and afterschool programming for low-income families. The Austin Chamber is proud to represent over 1,700 businesses of every size here in Central Texas, and our members experience first-hand the challenges and barriers facing our childcare industry. This ballot proposition will help bolster our childcare workforce, address access issues in childcare deserts, and support our local economy.

Austin ISD Voter Approval Tax Rate Election (VATRE)

The Austin Chamber Board of Directors supports the Voter-approval Tax Rate Election (VATRE) proposed by the Austin Independent School District (AISD) Board of Trustees. The health and vitality of our economy in Central Texas rely on a highly educated workforce and quality public schools. We urge AISD voters to vote in favor of this ballot measure to ensure we have a local talent development pipeline where every student is prepared with the knowledge and skills to thrive in college, career, and life.

Round Rock ISD Bond Election

The Austin Chamber Board of Directors supports the Round Rock ISD Bond Election, which would invest $998M into classroom expansions, new CTE facilities, support technology upgrades for students, and address maintenance issues for the performing arts centers and district stadiums. With one-third of RRISD's students living in Austin, this bond election will invest critical resources into the school system, and address significant maintenance upgrades throughout the district.
