A+FCU has a long history of helping current and college-bound students thrive in their education by awarding annual scholarships. We’re once again proud to announce the availability of our annual scholarship program for the 2024-2025 school year.
The scholarship program provides 60 current or college-bound students each with a $2,000 scholarship. The applications opened on November 1, 2023 and are accessible until February 2, 2024 on our A+FCU scholarship webpage.
We offer this scholarship to graduating high school seniors, current college students pursuing an education degree with a minimum of 60 collegiate credit hours, and teachers pursuing graduate degrees.
“As a local federal credit union with roots in the education space that prioritizes giving back to our community, it’s important for us to uplift students and support them in their educational endeavors,” shared Eric R. Kase, President/CEO of A+FCU. “Over the years, we've been able to support more than 500 students, alleviating the financial stressors that come with higher education debts. We are overjoyed to extend this opportunity to an additional 60 students in the next school year."
Students can apply for the scholarship if they or their parents are an A+FCU member as of the application deadline. This allows those interested in applying to become new A+FCU members before the deadline.
The annual scholarships serve as an aid to parents or guardians and students in all financial situations. The scholarship program considers both financial need and merit, giving those whose income exceeds traditional financial aid an opportunity to save on college tuition.
"This scholarship will help to alleviate some of the financial stress along my journey pursuing an engineering degree,” says Chloe Cano, an A+FCU 2023 scholarship winner from Trinity University. “I will now be able to focus solely on my academic work in college. Thank you for this opportunity.
We encourage students to access the application and review the guidelines on the A+FCU scholarship webpage. For questions, please email our team at scholarships@aplusfcu.org or call 512.533.4390.
