We are proud to introduce the Veterinary Regional Orthopedic Center (VROC), a groundbreaking specialty surgical and rehabilitation hospital that will soon call North Austin home. Set to open in March 2025, VROC will be the most advanced veterinary orthopedic center in Texas, focused exclusively on orthopedic and spine surgery. This state-of-the-art facility will not only offer world-class care for pets but also position Austin as a hub of knowledge and innovation in the field of veterinary orthopedics.
A Cutting-Edge Facility built for Surgery
Construction of the 17,400-square-foot facility began in December 2023, with Cadre, a fellow Austin Chamber member, leading the charge as general contractor. VROC will feature four modern operating rooms equipped to handle the most complex orthopedic and spine surgeries. The facility will also include a rehabilitation center focused on post-surgical recovery, including hydrotherapy and gait analysis, ensuring pets have the best possible chance at a full recovery. Located by the intersection of Palmer Lane and SH-45, VROC will offer easy access to pet owners and veterinarians across Central Texas.
The Vision Behind VROC
VROC is the vision of Dr. David Allman DACVS-SA, a proud Austin native who has spent the last 12 years forging strong relationships with the local veterinary community through his mobile surgical service, Mobile Veterinary Specialist (MVS). Collaborating with renowned, board-certified surgeons from across the nation, Dr. Allman is bringing together a team dedicated to elevating the standard of orthopedic care for pets in Central Texas and beyond. By offering advanced procedures, from TPLOs to total joint replacements, VROC aims to set a new benchmark in veterinary surgery.
Our Mission: Raising the Standard of Care
One of the most exciting aspects of VROC is its commitment to education. Positioned above the hospital will be an education center designed to host advanced courses and workshops for veterinary surgeons. This space will become a regional hub for continuing education, attracting top surgeons from across the country to share knowledge, refine techniques, and contribute to the advancement of veterinary orthopedics. By fostering this level of collaboration, VROC is not only raising the bar locally but also making Austin a leader in veterinary surgical innovation on a national scale.
At its core, the VROC mission is simple: to raise the standard of orthopedic and spine care for pets while elevating the next generation of veterinary surgeons. With a combination of progressive technology, expert surgical teams, and a commitment to education and research, VROC is poised to make a lasting impact on the veterinary profession, benefiting pets and their families for years to come.
Strengthening Austin’s Role in Veterinary Excellence
As construction progresses, we look forward to keeping the Austin business community updated on our milestones and achievements. Stay tuned as we bring this exciting vision to life and continue to strengthen Austin’s reputation as a center for medical and veterinary excellence.
