Area Students Build Financial Aid Awareness
Posted on 10/12/2016 by Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce
The Austin Chamber of Commerce and C3 Presents sponsored a College Insight and FASFA registration contest among area high schools. Bowie, Elgin, and Manor New Tech won first place in their categories and were awarded ACL weekend passes. Representatives from the winning schools are pictured below. An outstanding group of school leaders produced results far beyond expectation: close to 900 students signed up for the program and thousands of Twitter impressions spread through the social media network. Special thanks goes C3 Presents who provided ACL passes, backstage tours, and discussed with students the importance of a continuing education past high school.
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) offers a clear and centralized way for students to receive financial aid. This and future events are designed to make the application process easier for students and their families, take applicants through step-by-step process, and make the transition to college as seamless and worry-free as possible. The Chamber encourages any student, teacher, school official, or family member to visit FASFA's homepage or College Insight to learn more about financial aid programs, schedule important dates and times, and receive updates on free scholarship matching and college planning services.
This event was a was a great success and once again, congratulations to our winners.
