On May 7th, Austin's most philanthropic businesses and community members gathered at the JW Marriott for Austin Gives 2024, honoring all the companies and individuals who go above and beyond to give back to our community that were nominated for Austin Gives Awards. The day was full of excitement, generosity, and the spirit that makes our Austin community so special.

The day kicked off with a live music reception sponsored by PNC Bank, featuring Acoustic guitarist Austin Flematti. Austin Chamber CEO Jeremy Martin opened the event, followed by St. David's HealthCare Vice President Denise Bradley, who introduced Keynote Speaker Jake Wood, founder of Groundswell and Project Rubicon.

Judy Maggio and Leslie Rhode of ATX Good News highlighted the day's first award recipient, Patsy Woods Martin, founder of I Live Here, I Give Here, who received the Bobby Jenkins Philanthropic Leader of the Year Award. Patsy gave the crowd great tips about how to launch their own philanthropic movement, and spoke about what she thinks is ahead for philanthropy in Austin.

Austin Gives Vice Chair Bobby Jenkins was also part of the ceremony, encouraging the business owners in the crowd to join the Austin Gives movement and pledge 1% of profits toward philanthropy. Bobby then handed things off to CBS's Austin's Walt Maciborski, who emceed the awards portion.
