Providing access to a growing community is an evolving challenge. To meet the increasing demand for medical services, Austin Regional Clinic (ARC) is expanding access throughout Central Texas.
ARC already offers Same-Day care, After-Hours clinics, acute and chronic care virtual visits, and 24/7 telemedicine access to doctors via its NormanMD service. Other ongoing efforts include year-round recruitment of physicians, nurse practitioners (NPs), physician assistants (PAs), and clinical staff, while adding new clinic locations, expanding/renovating existing locations, and offering more in-house options for lab testing and radiology.
These plans are a part of ARC’s mission to provide the community with an accessible network of ARC clinics and convenient care under one umbrella. A connected network of clinics ensures that that no matter where a patient is in Central Texas, they can receive consistent, high-quality care from a multitude of physicians, NPs, and PAs, who have secure access to their detailed medical history.
Increasing access at established ARC clinics
Many of the enhancements planned for the next year will use existing ARC clinic space to enhance primary care, add new specialties and expand services for lab, radiology, audiology, and more.
- Recruitment: ARC has hired 79 physicians and nurse practitioners in 2024 and will continue to recruit as it expands.
- Expansion of Allergy, Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), and Audiology specialties: With eight more exam rooms, a new audiology booth, and an allergy shot room, ARC expands access to more patients who need these services in and around Cedar Park.
- Expansion of OB/GYN specialty: New exam rooms, a state-of-the-art sonography room, and an expanded lab, will enhance the capacity and quality of care in obstetrics and gynecology.
- Expansion of Primary Care: In current clinics, ARC will add additional exam rooms for the newly hired physicians, NPs, and PAs.
- Additional in-house services: In addition to more lab space, a sonography room, an allergy shot room, and an audiology room, ARC will add infusion rooms and offer new lab tests in-house.
Keeping our promise of expanding access and adding new services
Between 2024 and 2026, ARC will add two primary care clinics, two centralized specialty care clinics, and two new ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs).
- ARC Goodnight Ranch: Now open and soon offering family medicine, this clinic offers pediatrics and dermatology in one of the fastest-growing communities in Southeast Austin.
- ARC Lockhart: This new clinic will offer family medicine and pediatrics in another rapidly growing community located in the Central Texas region.
- ARC Greenlawn Specialty: Planned to be a large ARC specialty hub in Round Rock, this location will offer Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Podiatry, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Sports & Musculoskeletal Medicine (MSK), and Audiology. It will be located in the same facility as the new ARC Surgery Center North.
- ARC Surgery Center North: This center will house ARC’s first ambulatory surgery center (ASC) and includes three operating rooms (ORs).
- ARC South Specialty: Planned to be ARC’s South Austin specialty hub, it will offer ARC Medical Aesthetics, Dermatology, Podiatry, Audiology, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Sports & Musculoskeletal Medicine, Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Neurology, Rheumatology, and Allergy and Asthma. It will be located in the same facility as the new ARC Surgery Center South.
- ARC Surgery Center South: This will be ARC’s second ambulatory surgery center (ASC) providing ARC patients with outpatient surgery.
Enhancing access with technology
As technology advances and contributes to improved patient access, ARC continues to invest in solutions that support connectivity between patients, their health record, and their care team. Some of these solutions include ARC MyChart scheduling, automated lab results, ambient dictation during office visits, and telemedicine options like chronic care follow-up, and NormanMD visits for 24/7 virtual urgent care. These investments improve access and enable physicians, APCs, and clinical staff to thrive in an environment that supports building strong relationships with patients and each other.
Meeting the community’s expectations
Over the next two years, ARC will continue to grow and increase access for patients through the expansion of care teams, in-house services, two additional ambulatory surgery centers, and greater reach throughout the community. With these upcoming developments, ARC patients will further benefit from a network of connected physicians and staff who coordinate care through a centralized medical record system.
