The Austin Chamber of Commerce is working to attract venture capital funding for innovative projects, and companies and entrepreneurs to the Austin Region from across the globe. SVP for Global Innovation and Technology Leigh Christie recently spent four days in Dubai and Abu Dhabi meeting with wealth advisors, entrepreneurs and local leaders.

Leigh shares it is “exciting to see the growth of touch points between investors and entrepreneurs in both Dubai and Austin. I was able to enjoy some local sights in between meetings and I continue to be inspired by the relationships we are developing in this region.”

Growing local access to capital to ensure a healthy capital supply base, will help grow more startup and mid-stage companies into large company headquarters that we will work to keep in the Austin region. Combined with a larger international presence in our economy, will ensure our economy continues to diversify and provide opportunities for people to become prosperous.
