There were approximately 86,000 available job postings during the May 2023 monthly reporting period, approximately 10,000 more job postings than the previous month. New (first-time) postings decreased by 1,197 to 25,831. New Job Postings, in May 2023, represented 30 percent of all Available Job Postings – seven percent less than in April. New Job Postings in the Austin, Dallas, and Houston metros decreased by 4-5% compared to the prior month.

New (first-time) postings increased by 2,234 to 27,028. New Job Postings represented 37 percent of all Available Job Postings – the same as the prior month. New Job Postings in the Austin, Dallas, and Houston metros increased by 8-10% compared to the prior month.

New Job Postings in the Austin, Dallas, and Houston metros decreased compared to the prior month, though Austin decreased at a lower rate.

New (first-time) postings decreased by 251 to 23,809. New Job Postings in January 2023 represented 35 percent of all Available Job Postings – a 2 percent increase compared to the prior month. New Job Postings in the Austin metro increased slightly compared to the prior month, while Dallas and Houston metros’ New Job Postings decreased slightly.

There were approximately 73,300 Available Job Postings during the December 2022 monthly reporting period, a decrease from 77,500 postings when compared to November 2022. There were 24,060 New (first-time) Job Postings, a decrease of 6,284 first-time postings when compared to the previous month. New (first-time) Job Postings in December 2022 represented 33 percent of all Available Job Postings – a 6 percent decrease compared to the prior month. New Job Postings in Austin, Dallas, and Houston metros decreased significantly compared to the prior month, though Austin’s decreased more (-20% compared to approximately -13% in Dallas and Houston).

There were approximately 77,500 Available Job Postings during the November 2022 monthly reporting period, a decrease from 80,800 postings when compared to October 2022. There were 30,344 New (first-time) Job Postings, an increase of 2,246 first-time postings when compared to the previous month. New (first-time) Job Postings in November 2022 represented 39 percent of all Available Job Postings – a 4 percent increase compared to the prior month. The Austin metro outperformed the Dallas and Houston metros’ new job postings percent increase (~8% compared to ~+2.5% in Dallas and Houston).

There were 80,800 available job postings during the October 2022 monthly reporting period, a slight decrease from 83,000 postings compared to September. New (first-time) job postings decreased by 2,978 to 28,098. The Dallas metro's new job postings decreased at a similar rate, while those in the Houston metro decreased at a slower rate (~4% compared to ~9% in Dallas and Austin). New job postings in October 2022 represented 35 percent of all available job postings – a slight decrease compared to the prior month.

There were 83,000 available job postings during the September 2022 monthly reporting period, a 14% decrease compared to the previous month. New (first-time) postings decreased by 3,782 to 31,076. Both the Dallas and Houston metros also saw a similar percentage decrease in their new job postings (within +/- 1 percentage points). New postings in September 2022 represented 37 percent of all postings – the same as the prior month.

There were 94,600 available job postings during the August 2022 monthly reporting period, 1,400 less job postings than the previous month. New (first-time) postings increased by 1,342 to 34,858. Available job postings in the Computer and Mathematical Occupations group dropped by 7% this period compared to July 2022. Job postings mentioning vaccination requirements and signing bonuses also decreased.

There were 96,000 available job postings during the July 2022 monthly reporting period, 23,600 less job postings than the previous month. New (first-time) postings decreased by 15,584 to 33,516. The decrease in available job postings when compared to June 2022 is inclusive of data patches by LightCast to improve accuracy and eliminate duplicate job postings.

There were 119,600 available job postings during the June 2022 monthly reporting period, 28,900 more job postings than the previous month. New (first-time) postings increased by 4,400 to 49,100. The number of job postings with signing bonuses also saw a 29 percent increase, when compared to the previous month.
