Enter the newly rebranded and upgraded CapMetro Bikeshare service that just launched in July. CapMetro Bikeshare, formerly known as MetroBike, is Austin’s bike-sharing program that now boasts a completely upgraded system.

Austin Infrastructure Academy secures funding from Texas Mutual and Google to begin design phase

Workforce Solutions Capital Area announced that Texas Mutual Insurance Company and Google.org have made significant contributions to support the design of the Austin Infrastructure Academy. The contributions, $125,000 from Texas Mutual and $100,000 from Google.org, will fund the program design that will guide strategic direction for the Academy to meet its goal of connecting more local job seekers to career pathways in construction and operations.

Austin Airport Breaks Ground on West Gate Expansion Project

Dozens of Central Texas and Austin leaders gathered today at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), including Congressman Doggett, Congressman Casar, Austin Mayor Kirk Watson, and Austin City Councilmembers Vanessa Fuentes and Ryan Alter to celebrate the groundbreaking of the West Gate Expansion. Austin Chamber CEO Jeremy Martin was on hand to commemorate the project's start.

Copa Airlines Begins Service from Austin to Panama

On July 6, Copa Airlines began new service between Austin–Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) and Panama City, Panama. A celebration was held at the airport to commemorate the inaugural flight that included traditional Panamanian dancers, food and drink, giveaways, speakers, and a ribbon cutting.
