Since the 2020 Census, Austin has grown its population by 12,547 residents, at a rate of 1.3%. Austin is now the 10th largest U.S. city, surpassing San Jose, CA, with an estimated population of 974,447.

Not only has Austin reached new heights, but Central Texas as a whole has also become a hotbed of growth and opportunity. The census data reveals that three of the top four fastest-growing cities in the country are located in Central Texas. This exceptional distinction underscores the region's economic vitality, quality of life, and the region's ability to foster an environment conducive to progress and prosperity.

Additional data from this Census Bureau showed that Travis County saw the third largest numeric gain in housing units between July 1, 2021, and July 1, 2022, adding 27,927 new units during this time.
