Chamber announces 2018 Greater Austin Business Award winners

The Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce tonight announced winners of its 18th Annual Greater Austin Business Awards at a ceremony held at the JW Marriott Austin.

More than 300 companies were nominated for an award. Winners were selected by an independent panel of judges. The Most Uniquely Austin Award was selected by public voting.

Awards that had multiple recipients were divided into categories based on number of employees and winners are listed sequentially: 1-49 employees, 50-349 employees and 350+ employees.

Winners were announced in the following 11 categories:

The Cook-Walden Dignity Memorial Community Relations Award recognizes an organization that demonstrates a successful approach to corporate social responsibility and can show a positive impact on the community. This year’s winners are Five Stone Tax Advisers, The Beck Group and Texas Mutual Insurance Company.

The Kendra Scott Customer Service Award recognizes an organization dedicated to outstanding customer service and satisfaction in all aspects of sales and services. This year’s winners are Altatudes, Reality Based Group and ABC Home and Commercial Services.

The Ascension Seton Employee Wellness Award recognizes an organization that creates a culture of employee wellness and provides innovative programs for employee health safety and wellness. This year’s winners are Austin Partners in Education, Atlassian and Netspend.

The Texas Capital Bank Company Culture Award recognizes an organization that fosters a creative, collaborative workplace culture to enhance performance and sustain a competitive advantage, while demonstrating a sustainable culture with proven employee retention rates. This year’s winners are Condé Nast, Co/Lab, Austin; Truluck’s Seafood, Steak and Crab House; and WP Engine.

The Brookfield Residential Environmental Champion Award recognizes an organization that invests in sustainability throughout its business operations through partnership-based projects, volunteerism, conservation, leadership, construction, community outreach or innovative efforts. This year’s winners are Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority, Balcones Recycling and BAE Systems.

The HID Global Innovation Award recognizes an organization that employs new ideas or approaches to doing business or new technology innovation. This year’s winners are Live Music Tutor, car2go and Austin Energy.

The PIMCO Executive Leadership Award recognizes the local top executive for devoting time and energy to strengthen and transform the organization that they lead or guided to a new level of growth. This year’s winners are Linda Ginac of Talent Guard; Joyce Durst of Growth Acceleration Partners (tie); Phyllis Snodgrass of Austin Habitat for Humanity (tie) and Karen Rapp of National Instruments.

The Delta Air Lines International Reach Award recognizes an organization that has demonstrated growth in international business and has increased or maintained employment in the Austin Region through the expansion of international activity. This year’s winner is Emerson Automation Solutions.

The Blackbaud Non-Profit Award recognizes a 501(c)(3) public charity or private foundation that is tirelessly focused on serving the community and the partnerships they have built with for-profit organizations. This year’s winner is Central Texas Food Bank.

The Dell EMC First-Time Entrepreneur Award recognizes an individual who launches a business as a first-time entrepreneur and currently a leader in that company. The company should prove some level of success by having active customers but doesn’t have to be profitable. This year’s winner is Your6.

The Tru-Skin Dermatology Most Uniquely Austin Award recognizes a company that embraces the unique Austin culture and exemplifies what it means to live and do business in Austin. This winner was selected by public vote. This year’s winner is Netspend.
