With elegant displays full of comfortable recliners, sleek sectionals, luxurious dining tables, and more, Copenhagen Imports has been one of Austin’s prime retailers for modern and contemporary furniture since 1993. With the soft opening of Copenhagen’s re-located showroom at 4501 W. Braker Ln. taking place last week, the future continues to look bright for this family-owned and -operated company.

“I can’t begin to tell you how excited our Austin staff is about our new location,” enthuses Jens Hansen, President and CEO of Copenhagen. “We’ve been in Austin for over three decades and this is, by far, our most impressive store yet. More space, more products, more staff, and a much more convenient location. Our aim is to offer an even more exciting and uplifting furniture shopping experience than ever before.”

Celebrate the Beauty of Modern Design

In celebration, Copenhagen will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Austin Chamber of Commerce at its new location on the morning of September 27. The official Grand Opening event will kick off on Saturday, September 28 and run through Sunday, September 29. Join fellow furniture and design enthusiasts at the Grand Opening to enjoy perks like a special gift for the first 300 guests (while supplies last!), complimentary champagne and soft drinks, and the chance to win a recliner and ottoman by Stressless® of Norway– world-renowned for their comfort and longevity.

The excitement doesn’t end there– Copenhagen will be running one of its biggest promotions ever from the Grand Opening weekend until Sunday, October 13. Customers will be able to buy one item at full price and get 35% off the second item of equal or lesser value, as well as 10% off any other items in the purchase (some exclusions apply).

Discover the Copenhagen Difference

Whether you’re a casual fan or longtime enthusiast of modern design, Copenhagen’s new Austin store offers a haven for contemporary furniture lovers in over 30,000 square feet of space. “Our products encapsulate the ‘less is more’ concept, creating clean, comfortable environments that relax the mind and body,” states Hansen. “What’s more, our floor teams arrange furniture and accessories in coordinated, room-like vignettes, so shoppers can get a vision of what the total look could be in their home.”

This unique presentation is coupled with tailored, end-to-end service that assists customers at every step of their furniture-buying process. From friendly assistance by Copenhagen’s sales team to interior design help to delivery and repairs done by experienced in-house staff, Copenhagen strives to make the process as seamless as possible. Newly added services like financing with Affirm and floorplanning software offered on the website allow Copenhagen to keep pace with innovation.

A Legacy of Quality

Founded by Danish immigrants Erik Hansen and Tony Christensen who shared a vision of bringing Scandinavian design to the United States, Copenhagen’s first store opened in Phoenix, Arizona in 1970. Six other stores across Arizona and Texas opened in the following decades, including the showroom in Austin.

“Our Danish heritage gave us a steppingstone into the modern Scandinavian look we are dedicated to,” says Jens Hansen, son of founder Erik. “Our styles have withstood the test of time, and many items we sold 50 years ago are still relevant today.” He continues, “As our success grows, we look for ways to give back to the Austin community, such as our charity events in support of the Austin area food bank.” Over the past three years, Copenhagen’s Spring Charity Food Drives have collectively raised $250,000 for local food banks across Texas and Arizona – including $10,000 this past year for the Central Texas Food Bank of Austin.
