For our staff, protection and safety are always top of mind. For some, it was a simple act and for others, an emotional experience. Below are some of their reasons for getting the vaccine and how they felt (both physically and emotionally) after.

  • Amanda Gutman, VP of Marketing

"I really don't like needles, but I didn't even feel it! The next day, I had a sore arm and was a little tired, but it's a small price to pay for peace of mind."

  • Sarah LeNoir, Operations Manager

"I got vaccinated as soon as I was able to and it was incredibly emotional. Earlier this year, COVID found its way to my entire family. My mother spent 12 days on a ventilator fighting for her life. We are so lucky to have her back. I have struggled to find hope during the last year & a half but ensuring my loved ones are vaccinated has brought a flicker of hope back to my heart. There were no symptoms at all from either shot."

  • Colleen Pate, Chief of Staff

"I was nervous about getting the vaccine but was ready to take the next steps to protect others around me. This was a small step I could take that would have a greater impact."

  • Gabrielle Rodriguez, Event Marketing Manager

"I knew I needed to get the vaccine, not for myself, but for those around me. I had a sore arm for a few days, but it was worth being able to see my friends, family, and coworkers again!"

  • Emily Weisz, Senior Manager, Tech & Innovation

"I got the vaccine so I could safely gather with my friends and to see my grandma. And to TRAVEL! I can sleep at night knowing I've done my part."

  • Lacy Roesler, Director, Programs & Partnerships

"I felt relieved and like I could get back to normal life."
