Making Central Texas Work: A discussion on regional growth solutions
Posted on 07/26/2017 by Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce
Imagine Central Texas without the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, UT Austin, or even SXSW. Building a modern and efficient city isn’t just a mere accident. It generally occurs when a good city plan has been adopted. Urban planning is an effective tool that allows leaders to transform communities into viable working cities for all residents. As the city and regional partners begin to implement the 30-year plan, Imagine Austin, the future of the city is dependent on sustainable planning that achieves effective land-use, transportation, and urban growth.
Join the Austin Chamber of Commerce on October 30 as we host Making Central Texas Work! at the JW Marriott as we explore the future of planning and its function to building an effective region.
The half-day summit will feature regional experts and elected officials as they share their stories on how they manage growth and what’s next for the Central Texas region. The keynote speaker, Jeffrey Tumlin, will discuss the importance of land use, transportation, and offer his advice on how communities can move from discord to future agreements. The event will conclude with a reception.
Tickets are $65 for members and $75 at the door and for non-members.
