Mayor Steve Adler presented the Austin Chamber of Commerce with a proclamation naming October 19, 2022 Austin Chamber of Commerce day in the City of Austin. Staff from the Austin Chamber and members of our Board of Directors joined Mayor Adler at City Hall to receive a proclamation recognizing the Chamber's work to make Austin and Central Texas a better place to work and do business.

This was part of a larger effort by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives to promote "Support Your Local Chamber Day." Chambers of Commerce across the country are celebrating on October 19th and sharing how they make their communities better places.

Since 1877 the Austin Chamber of Commerce has been a non-profit, membership-driven organization to help foster the country's most prosperous business community. The Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce works to foster a stronger, more vibrant community by advocating for priorities that promote economic prosperity, boost the quality of life and create access to meaningful employment for all residents. All the while serving as a trusted resource for businesses, residents, and other stakeholders. The Chamber in partnership with Opportunity Austin has created more than 500,000 jobs since 2004.

The Austin Chamber works with businesses looking to create or expand their presence in the Austin region and help them create more jobs. More jobs means more opportunities for people to find work and provide for their families. This leads to increased community prosperity. In addition, we take on the biggest challenges facing the region, helping shape a policy environment that encourages growth.

We are committed to the Austin region's success. We aren't resting on our laurels, though. There is more work to be done. Come be a part of it.
