Jefferson Bank, a family-owned legacy bank founded in San Antonio, TX, today announced their expansion into the Austin market with a new 5,000 square foot commercial banking center and office located in the historic Norwood Tower at 114 West 7th Street, Suite 100 in the heart of downtown Austin’s Central Business District.

The new office opened to the public March 15, 2023 and offers an extensive array of commercial banking services including commercial lending and treasury management, along with concierge services such as private banking, trust services and wealth management for their clients and business owners. The Austin team, led by Jon Rebello, Austin market president, includes seasoned team members Jeremiah Bush, commercial banking group manager; Viviene Ngo, commercial real estate manager; and Michelle Deskins, senior vice president and senior treasury management sales officer. Collectively the Jefferson Bank team brings more than 90 years of industry experience.

“With veteran banking executive Jon Rebello at the helm, Jefferson Bank is excited to open in the thriving Austin community. I think our relationship-based banking philosophy will be welcomed in the Austin commercial banking community,” said Paul McSween III, Jefferson Bank chairman of the board.

Jefferson Bank’s Austin team is projected to grow commercial loans by $100 million this year and $500 million in the first five years. Additionally, the bank will have more than 20 employees at the downtown Austin office by the end of 2023 and has future plans to expand commercial and private banking services in the greater Austin area.

The Texas-based bank chose to plant its Austin roots at the iconic Norwood Tower because of its proximity to the state capitol and Austin’s prosperous business district. "Like Jefferson Bank, Norwood Tower has a long and proud history,” said Rebello. “We believe in investing in the communities we serve and are committed to putting our customers at the forefront of everything we do. Our team is excited to deliver our highly personalized banking philosophy to Austin.”

Jefferson Bank’s project team consists of Mary Helen Pratt as architect and SWATTS as the general contractor. Case McCoy of HPI represented Jefferson Bank and Patrick Ley of ECR represented Norwood Tower in lease negotiations.
