We all know and love them, but it's up to you to help us honor these businesses that are truly iconic to Austin. On December 7 at the Greater Austin Business Awards, we will name a business that is Uniquely Austin, as voted on by the community. The Uniquely Austin Award is up to you, so learn about each of our honorees below and cast your vote by October 31!



  • Austin Habitat for Humanity ReStore

    Austin Habitat for Humanity Restore began in Austin and has helped build more than 500 homes for many families in need. Austin residents embraced and fostered the concept of the ReStore, allowing them to become a nationwide model for other Habitat for Humanity affiliates. Now, more than 900 ReStores operate throughout the United States, supporting the community, the environment, and the families in need of access to safe, stable homes.

  • JuiceLand

    In 2001 Matt Shook dropped out of the University of Texas so that he could enjoy his true passion, which was lounging at Barton Springs Pool. The same summer the universe provided an amazing opportunity for him to begin his career making juice at the Juice Joint on Barton Springs Road. This part-time job turned into a career when he cofounded the Daily Juice there in 2003. The team he built in the early days went on to become the most beloved juice bar chain in Texas with 32 locations all company-owned and an executive team comprised of himself and four women.

  • Peter Pan Mini-Golf

    Peter Pan Mini Golf has been a fixture in downtown Austin since 1948. Their old Austin landmarks and business are falling by the wayside, and that brings a certain nostalgia factor. Peter Pan Mini Golf is but a handful of old-time business remaining, especially downtown. Peter Pan Mini-Golf serves as a special connection to old Austin. The same family that founded Peter Pan Mini Golf still lives in the area and continues the manage it. Original Austinites are few and far between.

  • Tiff's Treats

    Tiff's Treats was founded right here in Austin in 1999. Tiff (President) and Leon (CEO) started the company as UT students and eventually grew Tiff's Treats into the national brand that it is today. If it were not for amazing Austinites and lifelong customers, who supported the brand and created warm cookie moments all over Texas, they would not have been able to grow to over 60 locations.
