Texas Mutual Workforce Development Announcement

Learn more

Over the last six months, we’ve been distributing workforce development grants across the state and I’m proud to share that we are officially done! We have fully distributed $1.1 million to 16 incredible organizations who are committed to moving the needle in an effort to create a stronger, safer future workforce.

Last year, with the backing of our board of directors, we set out to use philanthropy to create transformational change—granting dollars to like-minded organizations with a commitment to data and collaborative partnerships. We are happy to see that vision culminate with these organizations and look forward to rolling up our sleeves and doing the hard work it takes to create change.

Locally, Workforce Solutions Capital Area was one of our grantees. We continue working with then to support the goals of the Master Community Workforce Plan. This is the second consecutive year we’ve provided a $100,000 grant to Workforce Solutions Capital Area as one of their signature partner on their skilled trades & manufacturing program. Last year’s grant, in conjunction with a marketing program we ran to support interest in skilled trades careers led us to be nominated as one of three finalists in the Texas Workforce Commission’s Large Employer of the Year program. This year’s grant goes to support the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council, and goes to fund an instructor, tutoring support, fees, equipment and insurance for participants in the program.

At Texas Mutual, we work every day to keep our policyholders strong and safe. We’re proud to extend that same commitment to the entire Texas workforce through our philanthropy efforts. I’ve included our press release and a link to our blog here in case you’re interested in learning more about the organizations we’ve partnered with this year. We’d love for you to join us in celebrating the work we’re doing across the state by sharing this news with your networks and in your community. If you need anything from me in order to do that, don’t hesitate to ask.

We’re grateful to all of the community leaders across the state who have taught us about collaboration and embraced our vision for a stronger, safer place to call home.
