Opportunity Austin, the Greater Austin Chamber's five-county economic development initiative, announced New York City-based CLEAR, a biometric identity company, plans to open a new hub office near The Domain in North Austin today, Oct. 1

CLEAR uses a biometric secure identity platform that gives registered travelers a predictable security screening experience as they enter airport security checkpoints or sports venues with a fingerprint or iris scan. The OA team collaborated with key leadership from CLEAR throughout the site selection process. The team assisted with understanding of the Austin market's talent, highlighted real estate options, and assessed the local tech industry and potential for future growth.

The new hub office represents CLEAR’s first corporate development office outside of New York and will focus on developing new technologies for CLEAR’s airport and stadium business. CLEAR's Austin office will bring 30 new jobs to the region, including those in software engineering and development and operations. Today CLEAR has over 25 employees and operates two lanes at Austin-Bergstrom International Airports.
